Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) was established in 1969. Jawaharlal Nehru University is a public university located in New Mehrauli Road, JNU Ring Rd, New Delhi, India. JNU has been ranked 1st among the top 5 universities in India by the (M.H.R) Ministry Of Human Resources for the last 2 years It was named after Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister G. Parthsarthi was the first vice-chancellor. Prof. Moonis Raza was the Founder Chairman. So the JNU University campus completes 50 years on this year as well as the buildings, greenery, deers, etc 50 years old, Hostels are also old at the same time neat and clean. The (JNU)University offers undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) program courses. Bachelor Of Arts (B.A)   

B.A. Course is an undergraduate program in Designed for all students who are coming from different study backgrounds {Arts, Sciences, Commerce}. The B.A in Arts course is considered to be a flexible course that permits the student to choose a course which is the best match for their career interest. a Bachelor’s program is usually a 3-year program. The course comes under higher education. Bachelor is referred to Bachelor of (Honours). Jawaharlal Nehru University provides a wide range of the specialization of the B.A. Course.

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Admission process 2020-21

  • Candidates seeking admission in BA Hons. (first year) will get admission on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination which will be conducted by the university itself.
  • The Applicants Will Get Admission In B. A (Hons) first year, Based On Their Performance In JNU Entrance Examination as well as merit.
  • On The Other Hand, For (UG) Bachelor Of Arts, The Admissions Will Be Provided As Per The Guidelines Of JNU University  For Undergraduate And Postgraduate Programs.
  • To Get Admission In B. A (Hons), The Applicants Must Have A Valid Score Card Of JNU  University Entrance Examination
  • The Shortlisted Applicants Will Have To Take Part In Online Counseling Scheduled By The University To Get Admission In  B.A Program.
  • For those candidates who are getting admission in (B.A Hons Lateral Entry), candidates have to appear in both the entrance examination and viva-voce, out of which, (70%) weight is given to the entrance examination and (30%) to the viva-voce, both being organized by the JNU university itself.

  • Applicant Candidates can also request for an application form to be sent by post along with the prospectus by sending (C.D.D) Crossed Demand Draft of Rs.300 /- along with the self-addressed envelope.

  • DD should be drawn in favor of  ( JNU ) Jawaharlal Nehru University payable at New Delhi and the letter should clearly indicate the program of study for which the Application Form is required.
  • Natives of Nepal can also obtain the prospectus and application form by sending a demand draft of amount Rs. 400/- or equivalent in USD.
  • Duly filled-in applications, in all respects, along with the copies of all the necessary enclosures should reach through registered post/ speed post at the University address.

The mandatory documents required at the time of taking admission in which are mentioned below.

  • A Medical Certificate for PWD Candidates certifying nature & percentage of disability issued by the competent medical authority.
  • Four Passport Size Photograph Of The Candidate.
  • Required 10Th Certificate (For Date Of Birth) With Self-Attested Copy.
  • Required 10+2 Marks Sheet. With Self-Attested Mark Sheet Photocopy.
  • Original Cast Certificate Of Sc/St/Obc/Pwd/Km/Cw With The Self-Attested Copy.
  • Migration Certificate (in original) from the Head of the Institution/University last attended.

 B.A. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Students must have passed 10+2 High School Senior Secondary ( HSC ) or equivalent Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any equivalent exam conducted by any State Board or Equivalent.examination from this university with minimum (45% )  aggregate marks.
  • All the candidates who qualified  the Higher Secondary exam or Intermediate exam  (Class 12), also known as HSC.of the Central Board of Secondary Education or a recognized equivalent examination were eligible to apply
  • Students having certificates issued by madrasas with at least ( 50%) aggregate marks are also eligible to apply
  • Students must have 17 years of age for applying to university for the U.G programs.
  • He/She should have secured a minimum of 50% Aggregate with English as a subject.
  • All SC/ST candidates have a relaxation of 5% in the minimum aggregate.
